Phillipe Mexes seems like an awesome player...with his brilliant skill and pace, im sure the 20 year old will make a huge impact at Arsenal. Wenger has been giving heaps of praise to Mexes and he is too very interested in Arsenal. Wenger has publicly said that Mexes will be in his hotlist and Im sure Mexes will be a great addition to our weak defence

Given the talent at Highbury, I wonder why the Arsenal defense is weak. All the millions of quids spent on these players for their brilliance yet they are suspect in the " trenches"! Call me biased , but wouldn't it be better to save millions of quids for the club and , lets say, put on a couple of Aussies. Now I know Aussies aren't the greatest players on the planet however they did beat England a couple of years ago(god knows how) and a couple of those players who work as a unit come cheap, and their pretty good. An All Black coach once said " A champion team will beat a team of champions". How true! A decent couple of players who play in unison all the time and work as a team would fit in well. I also wonder about transfers. I feel a bloke living in his own country, in his own district should not have to compete against outsiders. What does and English bloke do to get a game ?

The point I was trying to make was I think Arsenal is relying too much on individual brilliance rather than teamwork!

The reason why most manages go for foreign players is that they are easy to get.......
to get the best young english talent available in the Uk you have to pay more than they are worth and clubs they play for won't release them that easily.......
that is why paul jewell said that he is forced to look at the euro bargains because because of his frustration in the English market....Chairman Dave Whelan conceded the club would have to start looking abroad to strengthen the squad as they had seemingly exhausted their options on the domestic front
